28 Dec 5 Reasons For Why You’re Still Not Losing Weight

There are some mindfulness facts you NEED to know to about lose weight! You’d be surprised at most of them!

Once you knew that you had to lose weight, you’ve probably started being more mindful about what you put into your body and your exercise routine, right? But inevitably you’re still asking yourself this question as you notice that nothing is changing- ‘ Why am I not losing weight?’

It can be the most frustrating thing for anyone who is trying to change their body for the better. So, it’s important to remind yourself that healthy weight loss takes around  1 to 2 pounds per week. Sometimes you might hear of some freak weight loss wherein the person lost about 10 pounds in the first week, but that’s an exceptional scenario and is not the case with everybody.Everybody is different and so is their weight loss journey.

What might work for you might not work for someone else. Simply be patient, stick to eating a well balanced meals 4 times a day and workout well- you WILL see results.

Now even though you’re doing everything thing you can and still CAN’T seem to shake that weight off, here is a list of thing that might be affecting your weight: (We have added mindfulness tips as alternatives to what you’ve been doing wrong)

Reason Number One: You’re not drinking enough WATER!

H20 is one of the body’s most essential nutrients! We need water to digest food, carry nutrients to the cells around the body and cushion the organs. Water is essential to maintaining your electrolyte balance too!

Not only does drinking plenty of water keep your body hydrated, it also help to recognize hunger cues and not just fill up on food when you’re not actually hungry. This is because dehydration is often mistook for hunger. Filling up on water before a meal and eating foods with high water levels, means a decrease in calories too! It’s been said that 75% of the population of America is severely dehydrated. Let’s change that!

Mindfulness Tip: Become aware of when you feel like you’re going to get thirsty soon. This will prevent you from dehydration as you’re drinking before you reach that stage. Do this as much as possible.

Reason Number Two: You think that walking your dog is enough.

Obviously just walking your dog around for a couple of blocks in NOT going to get you results. If you thought exercise is the same thing as walking for a couple of  miles..you are so wrong! Unless you run, or burn calories by correctly exercising and kicking your workout UP, you will not see the results you so badly want.

Mindfulness Tip: Challenge yourself by doing something that pushes you for 30 minutes! Get that heart rate going, jump higher, run faster, squat longer! Give yourself a pep talk and encourage your mind to stay in control and lead the body, safely.

Reason Number Three: You’re Eating Too “Healthy”

Eating too much of healthy food can be a devil in disguise. Think about it, just because it’s olive oil, we pour it over everything. (it’s still oil)Just because it’s nuts, doesn’t mean that you take 3 tablespoons of peanut butter in one sitting. (it’s good fat but it’s still fat. Fat = More Calories)

Mindfulness Tip: Savor your food with every bite, know that a little bit is healthy but never over-indulge or binge on the same)

Reason Number Four: You’re On a Diet- Kind of

Don’t worry this happens to everybody, we sometimes slip. But try to stay committed to a plan and remind yourself WHY YOU ARE DOING THIS when you wake up or meditate thinking that you’re going to FIND ways to EAT HEALTHY. This could mean reaching out to loved ones and letting them know that they could be more mindful around you- especially when it comes to junk food temptations.

Mindfulness Tip: Meditating right that the beginning of the day will help you stay focused on what to eat and what not to. Making a pre-planned list of thing to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner, will really help.

Reason Number Five: You Skip Breakfast!

This is a COLOSSAL mistake on every possible level!

Fact: People that skip breakfast tend to be fatter. Why? It reduces metabolism and not eating in the morning means the energy has to come from somewhere else. So the body stores fat to compensate as a reserve for when it needs it.

Mindfulness Tip: Make overnight oats or have some kind of food in mind that excites you upon waking up. Be mindful about eating breakfast within one hour of waking up and tell yourself to actually DO it.

Make these changes and await patiently as you see that body of yours change for the better.
