We spent the majority of our time in the office with our co-workers or on the road in the traffic. There’s not much time left for our beloved ones. This often makes relationship building tough when we have work and responsibilities to take care of. It all comes down to maximizing our family time to the fullest. Below, we have identified some simple ways to improve your relationship with loved ones.

  1. Open your ears to listen

When you are home after a long day at work, you will most likely retrieve to your comfort state by either watching Netflix, ordering take-outs, or dwelling in social media. Often times, you neglect the presence of your loved ones. How did their day go? Did anything significant happen? Be sure to open up and listen to what they say attentively. Be mindful of their tone, clarity, body language, posture, and movement so you can understand how they truly feel.  Daily communication is a great method to build healthy relationships by showing how much you care for them.

  1. A touch of love

Some of us thrive in solitude. We like to be alone. Sometimes, it can be taken negatively because emotions are not easily shown. Step back and show some warmth and care through a simple touch; a hug, a gentle arm around the shoulder, or a pat on the back. It’s a simple gesture to acknowledge their presence in your life.

  1. Be mindful of your family time

Family time is precious so take the time to create memories together by venturing in new adventures. Treasure these moments while it lasts.
