What is the Foundation Course?

Foundation Course is a 3 week training program that introduces you to the basics of mindfulness and meditation. It explores simple breathing and awareness exercises that helps you to understand mindfulness and how it is practiced. The 21 days program will train you to meditate effectively and help you to know the Aware way of doing things better. The experience you gain from the Foundation Course will be immensely helpful in helping you to shape a healthier and a happier life and will give you confidence to dive deeper with our various courses on health, relationship and performance.

What are Energizers and how do they help?

Energizers are small guided meditation sessions aimed to assist you throughout the day to calm your mind, re-energize your body, and remain focused on the goal of the respective course. Each course has its own set of energizers, designed to support you on your journey with each course. They can be taken at any time of the day, specially when you feel uncomfortable and find the need to center yourself.

What are Singles and how do they help?

Singles are one-off meditation sessions designed to bring mindfulness into your daily activities and events. They will help you to be aware of the moment so that you can be present and focused to make the most out of your activities.

What are the things included in the Free Trial?

In the free trial, you can explore 7 days of the Foundation Course, 4 Energizers, 2 Singles, namely - Waking Up and Sleeping, and all the other assisting features in the app.

What does Aware Premium provide?

Aware Premium provides unlimited access to all our courses, present and upcoming, all the energizers associated with each course, all the Daily Guide programs, and all the singles. Basically, the huge world of Aware with thousands of hours of guided meditation sessions is available with Aware Premium.

How do I upgrade to Aware Premium?

You can upgrade to Aware Premium on your Android or your iOS device. Kindly follow the steps to upgrade:

  • Click on More at the bottom navigation of the app.
  • You will find Upgrade as the first option. Click on it.
  • Click on the subscription plan that best fits you- Monthly, Yearly or Lifetime.
  • A pop-up would appear from Apple iTunes or Google Play for the payment.
  • Once the payment is done, you will receive a confirmation from us immediately.
Why is Foundation Course mandatory to explore other courses?

Foundation Course is mandated by Aware for both beginners and long-time meditators so that one gets used to the techniques used in Aware and be comfortable before exploring advanced courses. Completing the Foundation Course will give you confidence to take up other courses and complete them effectively.

What is Ambient Sound?

Ambient Sounds are sounds of nature that help you to relax and calm your mind. You can listen to them in the background while you’re reading, or before going to bed, or while you’re doing any activity. They can also be used as background sound for your meditation sessions to help you maintain focus and prevent distractions from the noise in your surroundings.

What is Mindy?

Mindy is your personal mindfulness buddy that provides insights and tips on mindfulness & meditation from time to time to guide you in your journey with the best practices on meditation. Mindy works hard in the background to motivate you to keep up to your practice and evolve and enhance your experience on Aware.

What does the Blog offer?

Aware’s blog is more than just a blog, it’s your daily dose of mindfulness- and our platform to share various aspects of leading a mindful life. It covers a range of issues from wellness to health to lifestyle to relationship and productivity. It is an ideal place for you to gain knowledge about mindfulness and apply them in your life.

Reminder

The most important thing about meditation is that it needs to be made a part of the daily routine. Our Reminder helps you to do just that - a gentle nudge to keep you up to the practice daily. The default time for a reminder is 8:00AM Local Time, since the recommended time to meditate is early in the morning, however, you can change the time for reminder to what suits you the best.

After Foundation Course

I’ve completed the Foundation Course. Now what?

Congratulations for completing the Foundation Course in Aware. Now, it is best recommended that you take up the Daily Guide - Foundation, which will help you to practice the exercises learned in the Foundation Course. Once you’re very comfortable with the exercises taught in Foundation Course, you can explore our various courses on health, relationship and performance.

What is Daily Guide?

Daily Guide is a program that helps you to practice exercises learned in the respective course. It is an infinitely long program that you can take up for as long as you want, till you feel comfortable. Daily Guide helps you to meditate everyday and carry along the benefits of each course for as long as you want.

How do I choose what course to take up?

Once you’ve completed the Foundation Course, the world of Aware opens up to various courses on health, relationship & performance. Each course’s details are available for you to understand the objective and the techniques used in the course. It is completely upto you to decide what course you need to take up immediately to address certain health issue or enhance a quality in your life.

    • If you’re undergoing a personal or a professional crisis, it is recommended for you to take up our course on Stress or Depression.
    • If you’re suffering from ADHD, it is recommended to take up our course on Anxiety or Focus.
    • If you’re observing issues with your productivity, take up our course on Focus or Creativity.

How often is content added to the Aware library?

New content is added very regularly in Aware. In a month, we work towards releasing almost 2 Singles and 2 Courses. A notification is sent to inform you about the new content that has been added. To stay updated, you can follow us on Twitter or Facebook.

Managing your Aware Journey

Can I go back and re-do sessions that I have completed?

Yes, absolutely. You can take up sessions you have unlocked as many number of times that you want to. Sometimes, when you have taken a long break in your meditation practice, it is recommended you take up the previous day once before going ahead. If you have lost touch with meditation completely, it is recommended you take a few sessions of Daily Guide - Foundation, before going ahead and taking up a new course.

Can I change a course after I have started?

Yes, you can take up any course any time you want, irrespective of where you’re in a particular course. It gives you a lot of freedom although it is recommended that you stick to a course and complete it before moving to another course.

Will the progress in a course be lost once I change the course?

Your progress made in a course won’t be lost if you change a course. You can come back to the course and continue from where you had left. However, it is recommended that you stick to a course and complete it before moving to another course.

Can I jump ahead or skip sessions?

The courses are designed in a very structured way, where one session picks up from the experience of the previous session, so it is mandated that one cannot jump ahead or skip sessions. It will help you to immerse yourself completely and achieve the objective of the course.

How do I track my progress?

We measure progress on Aware on the time you have spent meditating, nothing else really matters. You can find the data in your Profile section. Your Profile would also provide you the following details:

  • No.of sessions unlocked
  • No.of sessions taken
  • Total energizers taken
  • Total singles taken 5. Total minutes meditated
How can I manage notifications?

You can manage the notifications you receive from Mindy from Settings. You can turn on/off the notifications and also select the time you want to receive the notification.

Basic App Support

How can I link Aware with the Google Fit app?

In Settings, you can enable syncing Google Fit. Once you enable Google Fit, and start a session, you will receive a confirmation pop-up from Google Fit to allow syncing of data. Once you confirm, your meditation session data would be available for you to track on your Google Fit app.

How can I connect with the Apple Healthkit app?

In Settings, you can enable syncing Apple Healthkit. Once you enable Healthkit, and start a session, you will receive a confirmation pop-up from Healthkit to allow syncing of data. Once you confirm, your meditation session data would be available for you to track on your Apple Healthkit app.

My sessions are not loading/downloading. What do I do?

If your sessions aren’t downloading,

  • Kindly make sure you’re connected to a good internet connection.
  • Kindly make sure that you have enough space in your phone memory.
  • If the above two things don’t resolve the issue, uninstall and install the app again, and try downloading a session.
  • If the issue isn’t still resolved, kindly reach out to Support at [email protected] and we will resolve the issue immediately for you.
I am not able to change courses. What do I do?

If your courses aren’t changing,

  • Kindly make sure you’re connected to a good internet connection.
  • If it doesn’t resolve the issue, uninstall and install the app again, and try changing the course.
  • If the issue isn’t still resolved, kindly reach out to Support at [email protected] and we will resolve the issue immediately for you.
I am not receiving reminder notifications for Energizers. What do I do?

If you’re not receiving reminders for energizers, kindly make sure you haven’t disabled notifications from your Phone Settings, since the reminders are sent as notifications.

Subscription

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions on Aware are managed by Apple iTunes or Google Play. If you purchased your Aware subscription through the Apple iTunes Store and wish to cancel your subscription, you can do so via iTunes. For more detail on doing this on your computer or Apple device, head to Apple’s own support page here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202039. If you purchased your Aware subscription through the Google Play Store and wish to cancel your subscription, you can do so via your Google Play Account. For more details on doing this on your computer or Android device, head over to Android\’s own support page here: https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/7018481?hl=en.

How can I disable auto-renewal?

If your subscription had been purchased in-app via iTunes, you would be able to disable auto-renew by following the instructions below:

  • Open the AppStore
  • On the Featured page - Scroll to the bottom and click where it says Apple ID
  • A pop-up will appear - click ‘View Apple ID’. (You may be asked to log in)
  • Tap ‘Subscriptions’
  • Tap the subscription that you want to manage. (Aware)
  • Tap Cancel Subscription to cancel your subscription. If you cancel, your subscription will stop at the end of the current billing cycle.
  • From there, your settings will be updated and it will show when your subscription will expire.

If your subscription had been purchased via Google Play, follow the steps below to disable auto-renew:

  • Open the Google Play Store
  • Tap Menu (Hamburger icon) next to “Google Play”
  • Tap Account and then Subscriptions
  • Find the subscription you want to cancel
  • Tap Cancel
  • If any questions or difficulties arise, please reach out to [email protected] with the email address associated with your Aware account.
I have just subscribed, but my account hasn’t been upgraded.

After successful subscription, if your account hasn’t been upgraded, follow the steps below:

  • Go to the Upgrade Screen on Aware App.
  • Go to the bottom of the screen, you will find an option to Restore Purchase.
  • Restore Purchase successfully, and your account will be upgraded.
  • If you receive an error in restoring purchase, kindly write to us at [email protected] and we’ll resolve the issue immediately for you.
How can I review my subscription details?

How can I upgrade my subscription?

If you want to upgrade your subscription, from Monthly to Yearly, or from Yearly to Lifetime, cancel your current subscription. When your subscription period ends, you will find the option to Upgrade again on the app.

I purchased my subscription and I need a refund. What can I do?

If you purchased your Aware subscription via iTunes, this request will be subject to the iTunes Terms of Service and is therefore non-refundable by Aware. The official App Store and iTunes Store policy is that all sales are final, though there are a few exceptions to this rule. You can get a refund if the app does not work as described, if you are charged but do not receive the item or if the app is not compatible with your device. If you do still wish to request a refund, please visit the iTunes Store for more details.

If you purchased your Aware subscription via the Google Play Store, this request will be subject to the the Google Play Store’s Terms of Service and Aware’s subscription model.

  • Refunds may be available for purchases made on Google Play:
  • If something was bought on your account or with your payment method that you didn’t permit
  • If the purchase you made wasn’t delivered, doesn’t work, or isn’t what you expected
  • If you bought something by accident, or bought something then changed your mind
  • If you wish to submit a refund request, please send an email to [email protected] with your Google Play Order ID (begins with GPA), or the email address associated with your Google Play account and will get back to you soon!
