04 Aug 4 Quick Exercises That Boost Concentration

These exercises that increase focus, will sharpen the power of your mind. One awesome advantage in doing this, is that it decreases brain ageing, so let’s begin:

 

Exercise 1: Count backwards from 100 to 1.

It sounds simple, but soon you will find it tough to keep up. Don’t worry if you can’t master your concentration, slowly develop it.

 

Exercise 2: Take a fruit and examine it from all sides. 

Again, it can sound deceivingly simple but you might find yourself being carried away by thoughts about the color, or where it was grown, or it’s nutritional benefits, etc. Stay calm and focus your whole attention on the fruit without letting irrelevant thoughts arise. Just look, and examine the object and stay in the present.

 

Exercise 3: Draw, close eyes, visualize the drawing. 

Draw a circle, triangle or square and paint it any color.

Now, focus on the image in front of you, and let your thoughts come and go- don’t pay any attention to it. Simple place all attention on the drawing. Now close your eyes and visualize the image and then repeat if you forgot. Next, visualize the figure with your eyes open.

Were you able to keep the image in your mind longer than a minute? Good!

 

Exercise 4: Pick an affirmation for the day.

Think of an a sound, phrase or word and repeat it silently for 5 minutes. As your focus increases day by day, try to push your limits to 10 minutes. This will help your brain to become sharper even though you are very relaxed and repeating the same thing for 5-10 minutes.
