24 Oct Aware’s Recovery Course Has Changed My Life!

For most people who exercise on a daily basis, the Recovery course is an eye-opener. Not only does it show you how little we rest, it also opens you up to your body and exposes every little cell in its current state- is it repairing, growing, restful or tight?

My experience with Day 1 of this course was fascinating. I had to restart my meditation because my posture was unbalanced, and this started to affect my mind. I was not relaxed at all and I realized that it’s important to shift to another chair to find the most comfortable position because it worked wonders! Much like the image you see, I was able to switch from restless and agitated to visualizing a green landscape with sunlight all over, in a matter of life-enhancing seconds! So if you feel distracted, or uncomfortable, do take an extra moment to move to a better location or posture! It is worth it!

As I continued for the next week, I experienced a feeling that transcending the mind and body connection.

Throughout the course, we keep hearing how stress, which arises from negative or rushed thoughts can affect our bodies. Especially, if you suffer from an injury. It takes longer to heal, the pain extends and even goes on the affect us mentally when it’s time to play, exercise to train again.

So, this mind and body connection is important and I could only feel this in full effect once I was totally relaxed and calm. When my body was stressed because of the chair, or location or whatever reason, I couldn’t feel it. But when I shifted and cozied up on the right chair, my recovery began to shine with a new light. Now, I was so connected that throughout the meditation, I visualized a warm light filling my body and it really felt warm, I felt like I was massaging the pain away with my mind. Another great feeling that I experienced was the pulsations on the places where I felt pain due to a recent injury. AND IT WAS AMAZING! I have never felt that outside of the meditation and it was so reassuring to know that this course works when you need to take some serious time out of a day filled with movement and be still to join or mentally accompany your body when it is healing and re-energizing.

It’s a wonderful feeling.
