“I am happier and everyone around me benefits from that too,” says Fiona Hennessy, our Mindfulness Hero of the month. We got in touch with her to know her experiences with mindfulness and meditation and share some tips with you.

Why did you start meditating?

I started meditating because I’m quite busy, mom to 2 smallies and full time teacher. I needed some time to myself and wanted to be able to work on ‘turning my brain off’! 

How has meditation helped you in becoming a better person?

Definitely, I’m less stressed, I’m focusing on positives much more, and I don’t dwell on things that can’t be changed. I’m happier!

What made you stick to Aware?

I really enjoyed having the few minutes to myself at first and then I started to notice how I felt so much better and I feel I need it in my life now!

What has been your life-hack to make meditation a habit? Share some tips for beginners.

I schedule the time for myself each day. I’m happier and everyone around me benefits from that too!
