17 Jan How To Access The Power Of The Subconscious Mind
How can we access the subconscious mind on a day to day basis? How can we fit analyzing our thoughts during meditation, into everyday life? We all question if we have the time to clean up our house, let alone meditate. But here is the truth, we’ve always been using the subconscious mind since we were born. Sounds crazy, but it’s true! Years ago, you were an innocent bundle of joy, not distracted by politics, ethics or even religion. You were totally living in the present moment- as a child, the world was one great playground and you didn’t care what anybody else said or thought of you!
As you grew up- people told you what is right, what is wrong, what is good or what is bad. Without realizing it, you had started forming BELIEFS!We all grew up inheriting beliefs from our parents, friends, movie stars, teachers or musicians- without thinking much about it. Anything that influenced you (whether good or bad) was downloaded into the brain -especially up until the age of 7, putting your brain in some sort of a dream stage, where it absorbed everything like a sponge!Meaning, the mind is very impressionable. So beware of your behavior and traits-maybe they are things you picked up around the age of 7.
For example, I have dealt with issues related to being short tempered. I now think that this is something I have always picked up from my father. I also had issues with people who I expected more of (I would get upset if they did something lesser than my expectations),I think you know exactly where that comes from too!The conscious mind analyzes and decides things for you- like where you want to go to school. The subconscious mind acts based on the information you stored in your brain when you were a child. The subconscious impressions are what determine your world. The power of the subconscious mind can alter reality. Sometimes the things we feel become reality, because it has been engraved or etched in the brain at a very young age. The subconscious mind doesn’t have a filter, it won’t argue with a negative thought, if that negativity has always been there. If you believed that the shapes and surroundings around you looked like a ghost in your room when you were young, then as you grow up, you might grow out of the fear. But watch a scary movie and the ghost pops up right back in the room(even if it’s an adult room now)
That’s the power of the subconscious mind- it’s roots run deep and it’s up-to you to redefine beliefs.
I’ll leave you with a quote from William James, the father of American Psychology that said “ The Power To Move The World Is In Your Subconscious Mind” Now you choose, do you want that resolution you made earlier this year, to work out, or fail?
